Do amor à morte

Resumo: "Uma conversa sobre o amor" e "Lógicas da vida amorosa" compõem um conjunto de cinco conferências de Jacques-Alain Miller bem representativas de sua transmissão da orientação lacaniana. Inicialmente proferidas e publicadas em espanhol, a força de sua enunciação, a articulação clara entre Freud e Lacan e a importância para a prática clínica demandavam sua tradução ao português. Afinal, o tema do amor é princeps para a psicanálise, tanto porque nela se trata do amor como se trata pelo amor. Em "Uma conversa sobre o amor", o autor nos presenteia com um comentário vivo e atual das contribuições de Freud à vida amorosa; em "O amor entre repetição e invenção" contrapõe a repetição freudiana à invenção lacaniana que se nutre da inconsistência do Outro para gerar o novo; em "Minha garota e eu" retoma, de forma muito atual, amores antigos, como a história de Adão e Eva e uma paixão de Rousseau, para apontar a escolha amorosa em função do Outro, terceiro necessário à constituição da parceria; "Convergência e divergência" é uma demonstração da necessidade lógica nas condições do amor diante da inexistência da relação sexual; por fim, em "Do amor à morte", o autor discorre sobre o supereu freudiano, que se estabelece pela via do amor, discutindo seu papel tão relevante nos males do amor.

Abstract: "Talking about love" and "Logic of love life" integrate a set of five lectures by Jacques-Alain Miller that are good representatives of his Lacanian transmission guidance. The conferences were first made and published in Spanish, so the strength of their utterances, the clear articulation between Freud and Lacan and their relevance for the clinical practice demanded their translation into Portuguese. After all, love is a major theme for psychoanalysis, so much so that it deals with love and for love. In "Talking about love", the author offers us a live and current comment on Freud’s contributions to love life; in "Love between repetition and invention" he confronts the Freudian repetition to Lacanian invention, which nurtures from the inconsistency of the Other to engender the novelty; in "My girl and me" he resumes past loves in a very current way — such as the Adam and Eve story and a passion by Rousseau — to point love choice in function of the Other, a necessary third to the development of partnership; "Convergence and divergence" is a demonstration of the logic need in the conditions of love in face of the inexistence of sexual relation; at last, in "From love to death", the author explains the Freudian super ego, which is built by love, discussing its relevance in lovesickness.
